Set in the old heart of Lagos, Iyaloja: The Movie (Isale-Eko) explores power, trust, rivalry, and tradition within a close-knit market community. The title Iyaloja refers to the revered female leader of the market, a position treated with deep respect by the women who depend on her wisdom and authority. When a graceful and persuasive woman arrives in Isale-Eko, she quickly wins people over with her warmth, charm, and carefully chosen words. Before long, she begins to gain influence among the market women and quietly sets her sights on becoming the next Iyaloja. At first, many believe she is exactly what the market needs. But her rise unsettles others. As questions begin to surface, the women discover that the newcomer may not be who she claims to be. Hidden secrets, jealousy, and old rivalries turn the succession into a bitter struggle. With the market divided and trust wearing thin, the women of Isale-Eko must look beyond charm and ambition to decide who is truly worthy of the sacred title of Iyaloja.
